Privacy Policy
The Mochi app · Updated November 7, 2026
Who we are
The Mochi app (book summaries and language courses, on iPhone, iPad and Android) is provided by Fortify Learn, Inc. (Fortify Learning, “we”, “us”). This policy covers that app. Mochi Tutor, our app for children, has its own privacy policy. For questions, or to ask us to see, correct or delete information, email info@fortifylearning.com.
The short version
- You don’t give us an email address or a password. The app makes an anonymous account for you.
- We keep what the app needs to work: the first name you give, how you dress Mochi, the books and courses you pick, and how far you’ve got.
- We don’t sell your information or show ads in the app. To see which of our ads bring people to the app, we use an attribution service (AppsFlyer), described below.
- You can delete your account and everything saved with it from inside the app, at any time.
What we collect
When you first open the app it signs you in with an anonymous account: a random ID with no email, phone number or password attached. Saved with that account:
- Your profile: the first name you type in, Mochi’s outfit and backdrop, and when you joined and finished setting up.
- Your books and courses: the books on your shelf and the language courses you’ve picked, and when you added them or last opened them.
- Your progress: which lessons you’ve started and finished, where you stopped, any rating you give a lesson, when you played each one and for how long, and whether your quiz answers were right.
The app also keeps a copy of your profile on your device, so it opens quickly and still works without a connection. We don’t collect your contacts, location, photos, microphone, camera or health information, and the app doesn’t ask for those permissions.
How we use it
Only to run the app for you: to greet you by name, keep your place in each lesson, unlock the next lesson, show your shelf and courses, and suggest what to do next. We may look at it in aggregate to fix problems and improve lessons.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers, who process information for us and may not use it for their own purposes:
- Supabase hosts the app’s database, your anonymous account and the lessons themselves, in the United States.
- ElevenLabs makes Mochi’s voice. The words Mochi is about to say are sent to ElevenLabs as text to be turned into speech; a greeting can include your first name. We don’t send them any recording of you, and we don’t keep the audio it makes for those lines.
- RevenueCat manages Mochi Unlimited subscriptions: it receives your anonymous account ID, your purchase and subscription status, and device identifiers needed to link a purchase to your account.
- AppsFlyer measures which of our ads led to an install, a finished setup, a lesson or a subscription. It receives device identifiers (on Android, the advertising ID; on iPhone and iPad, not the advertising identifier), your anonymous account ID and those in-app events.
- Apple and Google deliver the app and its updates and process subscription payments, as with any App Store or Google Play app.
We don’t sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it for others’ advertising. AppsFlyer may share install and event information with the ad networks we advertise on (such as Meta and TikTok) so they can measure our ads. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of our business (in which case this policy would still apply to it).
Analytics, ads and tracking
The app has no ads. We use AppsFlyer, as described above, only to measure our own advertising. On iPhone and iPad the app doesn’t ask to track you and doesn’t read the advertising identifier. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s settings. The app doesn’t run a crash-reporting service. If we add one, we’ll update this policy first.
Deleting your account
In the app, open Profile and tap Delete account, then confirm. This deletes your account straight away, with your name, Mochi’s look, your books, courses, progress and answers. The app then starts again as a new, empty account. You can also email info@fortifylearning.com and we’ll delete it for you. Copies may remain in our backups until those backups are replaced.
How long we keep it
As long as you have the account. If you delete it, we delete what’s saved with it, except anything we must keep for legal or security reasons.
Children
This app is for adults and teenagers aged 13 and over. It isn’t directed to children; our app for children is Mochi Tutor. If you believe a child under 13 has used this app, email us and we’ll delete the account.
Security and where it’s processed
We use encrypted connections and access controls, and each person’s records can be read only by their own account. No system can guarantee absolute security. Mochi is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or other places where they operate.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, delete or get a copy of your information, or to object to how it’s used. You can delete your account in the app; for anything else, email info@fortifylearning.com.
Changes to this policy
We update the date above when this policy changes, and give notice of material changes as appropriate.
